Initially, Mr Armstrong started buying cars at the group's South Shields dealership, until he discovered the dealership at Eslington Park in Gateshead, which was nearer to his home.

The most recent model he purchased was a Ford Fusion, which he bought with assistance from sales manager, John Wake.
